Raymond Arrieta
Raymond Arrieta
Raymond Arrieta is one of Puerto Rico’s most beloved and respected comedians. He is also considered one of the best Hispanic singer imitators in the world.

Raymond’s career spans more than 20 years.

His first television role was on Telemundo’s comedy show “La pension de Doña Tere”. In 1991, Arrieta went to Mexico where he participated in the play "Mama ama el Rock" (Mother loves Rock) with Mexican stars Angelica María and Angelica Vale.
During the 1990’s, he had his own show, "Que Vacilón," which aired in prime time through Puerto Rico’s WAPA Television Network. In this comedy show of sketches and stand-ups he brought to life, along with other local talents, a bunch of peculiar characters who gained immense popularity in the Puerto Rican pop culture, like the clown Trompetilla, a grumpy clown with a kind of fraudulent circus; and Andresito a kind of Dennis the Menace little boy.
In 1995 Arrieta became Executive Producer and star on his own weekly TV show in Puerto Rico called "El Show de Raymond", also televised on WAPA TV. In 1997 through 2000, he gained international recognition when he co-hosted Univision’s TV show “Lente Loco” (Crazy Lens), a Candid Camera-style show with Cuban model Odalys Garcia. The show was showcased throughout Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.
In 2006 Raymond performed for the first time in Orlando, Florida, becoming the first Hispanic artist to ever sell out the legendary Plaza Theatre. Not only did he sell out that show, but he has sold out every show he has performed in Orlando from 2006 to 2009.
In 2007 he switched to Telemundo Puerto Rico where he is a co-host of the daytime daily show, "Dia a Dia con Raymond y Dagmar”.
Jose Miguel Agrelot, considered the Godfather of Puerto Rican comedy, once said that “Raymond Arrieta was the greatest comedian of the "new" generation.” Raymond Arrieta is becoming an iconic figure in Puerto Rico. Every year he holds the “Puerto Rico walk against cancer” where he walks for 6 days collecting money for cancer research.
In 2010, Puerto Rico’s Oncology Hospital honored him by naming its Imaging room after him.
It’s been two years since Arrieta last performed in Central Florida. Raymond Arrieta with his new show “La Cosa esta dura y pelua” (Things are tough and ugly). The show will feature Rene Monclova as “Lolo Bond” considered one of Puerto Rico’s best dramatic actors and comedians of all time.
